How to see Tally outstanding, sales and stock on your phone
Your Tally is on the office PC. The usual ways owners check dues, today's sales and stock from the phone, what each one costs you, and how BizOS does it.

Key facts
- BizOS brings Tally data to the phone by connecting to TallyPrime: customers with what they owe, items, godowns, stock, and the bills and receipts made in Tally come into BizOS, which runs on Android, iPhone and any browser.
- A small Windows program, the BizOS Agent, sits on the Tally PC and calls out to BizOS. No port forwarding, static IP or VPN is needed, and nothing on the internet can reach your Tally.
- Your data stays readable on the phone when the Tally PC is off. BizOS keeps its own copy; only the sync waits, and anything made in BizOS while the PC is off reaches Tally when it is back.
- The BizOS dashboard opens on "To collect", beside sales today and collected today, and the Outstanding Receivables report buckets dues into 0–30, 31–60, 61–90 and 90+ days.
- Bills from before your sync-from date do not come across on their own. Export the outstanding report from the Tally PC to Excel once and import it in BizOS as opening dues.
- Tally Sync is a BizOS module at ₹2,499 a year (before 18% GST) on the ₹2,999 Billing base, and is part of the Complete bundle. See Plans & billing.
If your Tally runs on the office PC, the most reliable way to check who owes you, today's sales and stock from your phone is to connect TallyPrime to an app that keeps its own copy of that data. BizOS does this with a small program on the Tally PC: your customers, bills, receipts and stock come into BizOS, you read them on Android or iPhone, and whatever you bill from the phone goes back into Tally for your CA.
That is the short answer. The rest of this post compares it with what owners usually try first, so you can pick what suits your business.
What do owners usually try first?
Picture a hardware shop owner in Madurai. He is at a supplier's godown, a contractor calls asking for 40 bags of putty on credit, and he wants to know what that contractor already owes before he says yes. The numbers are on the PC at the counter. These are the common ways people reach them:
| Option | What you get on the phone | What it costs you |
|---|---|---|
| Remote desktop to the office PC | The office PC's screen, on your phone | The PC must be on and reachable; a desktop screen is hard to use on a phone; remote access has to be set up and kept secure |
| Export a report to Excel or PDF and send it on WhatsApp | A file, as the figures stood when it was exported | Someone at the PC does it every time; the file is out of date by evening; you can read it but not act on it |
| An app that reads your Tally data | A view of the numbers on your phone | Varies by app; check whether it only shows data, or whether billing and collection still happen at the PC |
| BizOS connected to Tally | Your customers, dues, bills and stock in an app you also bill and collect from | A one-time setup on the Tally PC and a paid module; the books stay in Tally |
None of these is wrong. If you only glance at a number once a week, a report sent on WhatsApp may be enough. The question is whether your real problem is seeing the numbers, or that the work (billing, collecting, checking stock) can only happen where the PC is.
How does BizOS bring Tally outstanding, sales and stock to the phone?
Once Tally is connected, you choose, for each kind of record, whether it comes into BizOS, goes to Tally, both or neither. For the three morning questions, this is what you see:
- Who owes me. Party ledgers under Sundry Debtors become BizOS customers, and Tally's sales and receipt vouchers come in from your sync-from date, so each customer shows what they owe. The dashboard opens on To collect, and the Outstanding Receivables report in Reports buckets dues into 0–30, 31–60, 61–90 and 90+ days as of any date.
- What we sold today. The dashboard shows sales today and collected today, counted on the IST calendar day. Bills made in BizOS and bills your staff still make in Tally (if you set invoices to come in) are both there.
- What is in stock. Items, stock groups and godowns come in from Tally. Each godown is matched to a BizOS stock location and goes live one at a time; from then BizOS keeps its quantity and tells Tally what moved. Low-stock items show up under "Needs you today".
The difference from a report is that you can act on it. From the same screen you can send that contractor a WhatsApp reminder with a UPI QR, record a payment with a numbered receipt, or make a GST bill on the spot. See WhatsApp payment reminders and sending a GST invoice on WhatsApp for how those work.
What do I need to set it up?
| You need | Details from the docs |
|---|---|
| A Windows PC running TallyPrime | Windows 10 or 11, internet access, on during working hours. BizOS is tested against TallyPrime 7.1 |
| Tally's gateway switched on | F1 Help → Settings → Connectivity → Client/Server configuration, port 9000, with the company loaded |
| The BizOS Agent | A small installer from BizOS support, put on the Tally PC and set to start with Windows |
| An Owner or Admin login | Only they can set Tally up, in the BizOS web app under Settings → Connections & AI → Tally |
| The Tally Sync module | ₹2,499 a year or ₹4,998 for three years, before 18% GST, on the ₹2,999 Billing base; included in Complete (₹19,999 a year) |
The setup wizard has six steps: install agent, pair (a 6-character code that lasts 15 minutes), retrieve master data, map master data, choose what syncs, complete. Nothing syncs and nothing is locked until you press Complete setup, so you can stop halfway and check with your CA. The setup guide says it usually takes under an hour, most of it on the mapping step.
Two things to plan before you finish:
- The sync-from date. Vouchers before it never move in either direction. It defaults to 1 April of the current financial year; agree it with your CA, because it cannot be changed from a screen afterwards.
- Older dues. Bills from before that date do not come across on their own. Export the outstanding (bills receivable) report from the Tally PC to Excel once, then use BizOS's import and choose Opening dues. Skip this and your "To collect" figure will be too low.
Every new BizOS business gets a 30-day trial, so you can see your own numbers on the phone before you pay.
What happens when the office PC is switched off?
You still see everything. BizOS keeps its own copy of your customers, bills and stock, so the phone app shows them whether or not the shop PC is on.
What pauses is the sync. While the PC, the agent and TallyPrime are running, the agent checks in with BizOS about every 45 seconds, and Tally entries are read on a pull interval (15 minutes by default). When any of them is off, BizOS keeps the queue: bills made on the phone wait and go into Tally once the PC is back. Nothing is dropped, and re-sending never duplicates a voucher in Tally.
One limit on the phone side: the BizOS phone app needs a connection to save. It can show what it loaded earlier while offline, but it does not queue new bills. Offline billing with a sync queue is in the web app.
What stays in Tally?
BizOS shows the business side of your numbers, not your CA's statements:
- Balance sheet, P&L, trial balance, ledger accounts, bank and cash books stay in Tally. Ask your CA for those.
- Purchase bills with a supplier ledger stay in Tally. They reach BizOS stock through the sync.
- GST filing, e-invoices and e-way bills are not done in BizOS. It prepares the GSTR-1 file; your CA files.
- Tally setup, chats, campaigns and automations live in the BizOS web app; the phone app is for daily work.
Once a bill or receipt has reached Tally, BizOS locks it, and corrections go through a credit note, which is what your CA expects anyway.
Is this the right fit for you?
It fits if:
- You or your staff are away from the counter for much of the day: at sites, on the van, at a supplier.
- You want to act on what you see (remind, bill, collect), not only read it.
- Your CA works in Tally and you want that to continue without anyone re-typing bills.
It is not the right fit if:
- You only want your CA's statements (P&L, balance sheet, trial balance) on the phone. BizOS does not show those.
- You need the phone to file GST returns, generate e-invoices or e-way bills.
- Your business is outside India; BizOS is built for rupees, IST, Indian GST and +91 numbers.
- You have no Windows PC running TallyPrime that can stay on during the day. The sync needs one.

Frequently asked questions
How can I see Tally outstanding on my mobile?
Connect TallyPrime to BizOS. Bills and receipts made in Tally come into BizOS from the sync-from date you choose, so each customer shows what they owe on the BizOS app for Android or iPhone. Older dues from before that date are brought in once by exporting the outstanding report to Excel and importing it in BizOS as opening dues.
Do I need remote desktop or a static IP to see Tally data on my phone?
Not with BizOS. The BizOS Agent on the Tally PC calls out to BizOS over the internet, so no port forwarding, static IP or VPN is needed, and you read the data in the BizOS app rather than on the office PC's screen.
Does the Tally computer need to be on to check my numbers?
No. BizOS keeps its own copy, so you can read customers, dues, bills and stock any time. The Tally PC, the BizOS Agent and TallyPrime with the company loaded need to be running only for the sync itself. Nothing waiting for Tally is dropped.
Can I make bills from my phone and have them reach Tally?
Yes. A GST invoice made in the BizOS app can be sent on WhatsApp with a UPI QR, and it reaches Tally as a voucher by itself, along with receipts and credit notes, so your CA sees it in Tally and nobody types it twice.
Can I see my balance sheet or P&L from Tally on the phone with BizOS?
No. BizOS shows the business side: sales, dues, collections, stock, expenses, leads and staff. Balance sheet, P&L, trial balance and ledger accounts stay in Tally with your CA.
Can I set up the Tally connection from the phone app?
No. Tally setup is done in the BizOS web app (Settings, then Connections & AI, then Tally) by an Owner or Admin, with the BizOS Agent installed on the Tally PC. After that, the phone app shows the data.
